it should work, but when you buy an unlocked iPhone you lose the warranty with apple. if it breaks, you will not get a refund, and they will not be able to repair it at the apple store either. its better to get an iPhone from an apple store in the US

Yes but would it be cheaper ?

-Mandarin classes should be no problem to find, as long as you're in a major city. If not, you could probably hire a private teacher. Contact the nearest University, and they might have classes or teachers willing to take you on. -Finding work for a law firm would be incredibly difficult, unless you already speak and read mandarin. Honestly, I've been here for three years, and have never met a lawyer from a western country. You will have a much better chance of finding work as a teacher; whether or not you find this appealing, it is the profession of the vast majority of foreigners working in Taiwan. -Again, your best chance at obtaining a work visa is through a teaching job, probably a buxiban (cram school). If you are serious about studying Mandarin, though, you also may want to consider getting a student visa instead. Less paper work and you can still work (off the books, of course) -Check out www.tealit.com for good info about expat living in Taiwan. -Good Luck!!!
