I plan on moving to Taiwan for a year. Accurate information concerning work is hard to come by and often conflicting. I have a couple years of university complete, but haven't yet finished my degree. Is it possible to get a work permit without a diploma?

No you do not need a degree to work here, we have 95 percent of our work force who have degrees. You can find many jobs anywhere with out a degree, jobs such as a jousekeeper, maid, yardman. trash hauler,Bathroom clealner in airport, Beggar on street corner, I could go on and on but you get the drife. GET AN EDUCATION

I think it is possible, but those are your labor jobs (like janitor etc..) The better jobs would probably require a university degree.

there are a lot of work in taiwan that doesn't need a degree, but you will be in rank and file position, but that is just a stepping stone when you are new in a country, you can apply for another position when you are there and be properly documented when you want to go to another country..

That depends on many factors. Where are you from? English teaching is a common job, but you need at least an associates degree and a teaching certificate to do that. Also many jobs with Taiwanese companies will require you to speak Chinese. I see you speak English? Can you speak any other languages? You cannot expect to work even in labor aeas if you cannot speak the language. You can however finish your degree here cheap. Try National Sun Yat-Sen University in Kaohsiung for engineering, business or Chinese. You can also try National Taiwan University in Taipei and many others across the country.

You need a degree to be a legal english teacher. if you are taking courses in Chinese or something else at the universities here, you can get in as a student, but you need to attend your classes or get kicked out of the country.

In order to get a job offer, you must have education, skills, and/or work experience that makes you more qualified than any available Taiwan citizen for the job. This is the standard for hiring foreign employees in most countries. Generally speaking, individuals must be well qualified to get a job offer and employment visa. Taiwan recruits ultra-low-wage contract workers from foreign countries to fill unskilled construction and housekeeping positions. These employees are hired en mass through foreign recruitment agencies in places such as the Philippines. This would not be an appropriate choice for a person who is two years through their university degree.

Yes. In China however, you can get a job from our government without any education at all. China recruits ultra-low-wage comical writers from foreign countries to fill unskilled comic and entertainment writing positions. These employees are hired to write imaginative stories to promote a god-like China who is perfect and never makes mistakes. They are also called upon to write cover-up lies when something evil that is happening in China. They will deny that Mao Ze Dong is a eunuch and gay, but that is the truth. They are not the most lovable creatures but they sure spin the stories about China really fast. They are also brainwashed to hate on America and any anti-China posters. Initially, when someone posts negative comment in China section, they will bring their hordes of trolls created by a single user with multiple accounts, they will bash on that person and manipulate the whole story. They also like to play a game called "pick me", it's where one of his trolling accounts asks a question with an added insult to Americans, then use another trolling account to answer the same question, and then he makes sure to pick it's own trolling answer as the best one in hopes of earning an orange badge and get on the top answerer board. As you can see, this is the appropriate choice for some, very low Cultural IQ but full of BS fun! lol
