What are the requirements to work as a pharmacist in Australia, if I have a degree from Taiwan

What are the requirements to work as a pharmacist in Australia, if I have a degree from Taiwan?
I am a pharmacy student.I have a plan to work as pharmacist in Australia. Can I come to Australia and work as a pharmacist when I have a license from Taiwan? What tests will I need to pass? And what other skills do I need to have? Thanks in advance.

Before you can obtain a skilled migration visa for Australia as a retail or hospital pharmacist, you must obtain a positive skills assessment from The Australian Pharmacy Examining Committee (APEC) which is the body responsible for skills assessment for migration purposes. See the following and follow the links to the APEC website for information on what is required: http://www.immi.gov.au/asri/occupations/p/pharmacist-retail-pharmacist-2382-15.htm http://www.immi.gov.au/asri/occupations/p/pharmacist-hospital-pharmacist-2382-11.htm Part of the APEC requirements is that you must meet strict English language requirements. Language requirements are based on either the Occupational English Test (OET) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). A score of ‘A’ or ‘B’ in all four components of the OET or an overall Band score of at least 7.5 (with a minimum score of 7.0 in each of the four components) at the Academic level of IELTS is an essential prerequisite for enrolment in the APC Stage I Examination (as used in Stream A). The OET and IELTS may be taken overseas or in Australia. Because you are still a student and will require a minimum of 12 months work experience after graduation before you can apply for a visa, you will not require registration specific to the state in which you wish to practise. After 1 July 2010, pharmacists will be nationally registered to practise pharmacy in any state or territory in Australia.

Well, Taiwan probably doesn't have an embassy in the Philippines, but they probably have a TECO (Taipei Economic and Cultural Office) in Manilla. They perform the same functions as an embassy and should have access to your records from when you lived in Taiwan.

How many Americans live in Taiwan? What are they doing there (work, school)

How many Americans live in Taiwan? What are they doing there (work, school)?
I know there are a lot of American ESL teachers and lonely guys looking for women in Taiwan. Does anyone know how many Americans live in Taiwan? Cite your source of information, please.

No, I do not know the answer, but expect you want to use whatever you find to troll on the China forum which is your usual predatory hunting spot, along with your fellow 50 Centers (Wu Mao Dang). Why don't you cite your sources on how you "know" there are a lot of lonely American ESL teachers looking for Taiwanese women, unless you ae just fishing, which I suspect you are? While you are at it, why don't you go ahead and cite your sources as to how the average monthly middle class salary in China ranges from $700 to $7000 USD? The Taiwanese might find that an amusing fairy tale. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AvriGQvLgf7bQ01KTq9GV35SDX1G;_ylv=3?qid=20100906024050AA6XfNK Incidentally, do you think the Taiwanese are so gullible that they would do your dirty work for you? You insult their intelligence. @chububobcat: Cultural Ignorance and Cooper are thought to be one and the same 50 Center, just using a second Yahoo ID> "Their" language and writing styles are nearly identical, not to mention the bogus misuse of statistics.
2 :
There are only 3. It just looks like more because they have almost as many proxy accounts as you do. But, none of them are as lonely as you. And, they don't need to cite sources any more often than you do. Fair enough? If you want better information than that, then I suggest you contact the AIT. http://www.ait.org.tw/en/ait-introduction.html @CI - You forgot to post a link or source for your pure speculation. In addition, I happen to have a very good reason for living here. I suggest you haven't one good reason for criticising others and making false accusations, aside from engaging in another point gaming job with your AC account. Please prove me wrong. Try to serve the purposes of Yahoo!Answers every once in a while. OK?
3 :
You don't know there are a lot of American ESL teachers and there are no lonely guys looking for women in Taiwan. However, the National Immigration Agency and the Ministry of the Interior has reported that there are well over 350,000 foreigners living in Taiwan as of Dec. 31st, 2009. 32.7% of these are Indonesians 22% are Thai both of these are usually laborers for factories and servants or maids etc., according to Ministry of the Interior stats there are only about 2.5% of the population that are Americans. All of whom are hard working people, the majority is listed as working in Education, followed by independent enterprises (these are Taiwanese or foreign owned companies), Government contractors, and the smallest number is entrepreneurs and spouses. <edit> I forgot to add the that there is a large portion of students studying proper Chinese, and other fields in Taiwan's Universities and language schools. I agree with Richard M, that you only want to use this information to cause trouble and do more trolling so I am not going to give you anymore information. So your just going to have to contact with Ministry of the Interior yourself and explain to them that you only want this information to disseminate fictional information, to troll and spam the China boards with crap to bombard people with fictional statistics only to make Taiwan look bad and spread xenophobia. <edit> Cultural Ignorance, you lack of knowledge never ceases to surprise me. Even if your math skills are non-existent (as seen by your numerous other posts) using a calculator and then using 350,000 (the actual number I will leave for you to find) foreigners and the sited 2.5% being American. Where do you come up with 500-1000 people, that number just shows complete ignorance of everything. With the numbers I gave you could easily have seen that there is 8 times your highest estimate in Taiwan. Unlike the PRC, Taiwan openly reports its accurate census information.
4 :
I see from the answers so far that angry Americans are unhappy with your question. Americans become enraged easily, so always beware of their emotional instability. It is unknown how many Americans live in Taiwan because the Taiwanese government keeps that information secret. In fact, very little factual information can be obtained about Taiwan without running into the Taiwan government's censorship and cover-ups. I estimate that 500 to 1,000 Americans live in Taiwan based upon the number of ESL teaching jobs there. Americans have no legitimate reason to live in Taiwan, but low paying ESL jobs attract a strange mix of American economic refugees and drifters seeking social acceptance.

May be they want a clearance from the Police, which is quite normal. You may ask your fiancee if he is living in Taiwan or Dubai to personally approach the police authorities there to give the necessary certificate. If he is no longer there, you may have to approach them through their embassies, in the country where he lives, presently.
2 :
get arrested in taiwan and in dubai.
3 :
It seems that the best place to get it would be from the Foreigners police. It's on Chunghwa Rd. (or back entrance on Yenping st) and not too far from the #2 Filipino community near the railroad station. Of course if he lives somewhere else than Taipei, he'd have to find the local branch of the police. You can try http://www.taiwanstuff.com/fapolice.htm

The easiest would be "English teacher," and any degree would do. As long as you look like a foreigner and can speak English you shouldn't have much difficulty getting a job teaching English (as long as you can somehow get a visa. Otherwise, be mindful that all of these countries you mention have pretty strict VISA rules, and you'd have to be sponsored by a company or have very unique skills to be able to live there for an extended period of time. Thus, it would be next to impossible to go there and find a job. You'd have a better chance working there if you work for a firm that does business in those countries. For example, many automakers do business in Japan and China, so if you enter their sales group, you can possibly end up working in Japan.

Hello Chan, It's a terrible feeling. But it's not the first time it's ever happened to someone. It's actually pretty common...even a couple of times in your career if you're unlucky. Lucky or not, it happens to many of us. Some of us actually survived it???!! Here are a couple of tips (Easy to give...hard to follow...I know that...but I'm going forward anyway) 1. Be as pleasant as possible. Smile (It will go towards creating your own atmosphere) (Besides...a good attitude really goes a long way) 2. Do your job as best as you are able. (People see, and people observe, they don't always say). 3. Put in a good, honest hard day at work (enduring all and smiling as much as you can and being pleasant). Go home and relax. Do what you like to do and put all that rubbish behind you. ...When you get to be the boss...and you will....throw all those weenies out of there! Only kidding...just a little levity. Keep your eyes open for opportunities...and most of all...hang in there sport! Most of us have been through that.

To obtain and maintain a working visa in Taiwan, do you have to have a full time steady job, or can you just work part time somewhere? My uncle has a pizza restaurant in Gaoxiong, and is married to a native. If he were to open another location (he is planning on it) and hires me, would that be acceptable? Could I maintain my visa?

Yes. Internal components stay the same, regardless of where they are bought. (Graphics Cards, Ram, CPU) Power Cables, and Power Supply Units may differ. (In the shape of the plug for the cable and in voltage for the PSU.) Chances are, the ram currently in your machine was also made in Taiwan.

Quite a few people here recommend "Dave's ESL Cafe" for job hunting teachers in East Asia. It is updated daily with posting from schools and recruiters looking for ESL instructors in China, Korea, and elsewhere across East Asia. You might get lucky and spot something in your area listed there. I sympathize regarding your "dragon ex-wife who just barks for money". Perhaps Saint George (the legendary dragon slayer) will take pity on you. Good luck finding suitable employment.

There are many spelling and grammatical errors in your question. I do not think that you are qualified to teach English in Taiwan (or anywhere). Please go back to school to improve your English (not english) skill.

Not really. Taiwan, like Korea and Japan, has a list of countries from which native English speakers with the right qualifications are permitted to teach English and receive a work permit. Malaysia, the Philippines and India (where English is an official language but not the national language) are not on the list.

The following are the main sites for looking for teaching positions in Taiwan. Tealit is one of the best for Taiwan. As for your education, it really depends on what degree you have. If you have a recognized degree from an English speaking country, than it will be easy to work in a cram school. You can try posting your resume on tealit.com and see what happens. http://www.tealit.com/ http://www.eslcafe.com/ http://www.eslteachersboard.com/...
2 :
What qualification do you have? What kind of work are you looking for? These thing will affect your situation. BTW isn't it B.A. ?????????? OK, I am a very sloppy writer but: "i don't have a b/a ad that is provoing to be a problem." ???? Hope you aren't looking for work as a teacher!
3 :
The market is getting tougher in the last 2 years particularily and there is actual competition for jobs. If you dont have a B/A it is easy to be knocked off the shortlist. Try going out to bushibans in rural areas with less foreigners... or hope to find a newly opened mom and pop bushiban outfit inside the cities who need a foreigner face for market cred more than they care to follow rules -just don't expect to get any job satisfaction at that kind of setup. Government and public schools and private schools and **established** bushibans in major cities will not look at you twice after hearing no B/A. In order to get a work permit here you need to have at least a BA. You can try and take chinese classes and get a student visa that way, but expect that you will not make much money or be able to travel when you want if you do it that way and if you get caught teaching at a school with a student visa you will be booted out, not allowed back in, a big black mark inside your passport which may not impress other customs agents, and your school will get a heavy fine. But most students here do it anyways, and at the moment it seems tolerated, but the rules exist to be enforced whenever some idiot foreigner does something that upsets the authorities. I advise against putting your a$$ in that sling... --If some places were desperate they may accept you without any permit, but you will have to do visa runs every month at your own cost, which could be good for if you want to travel but this tends to make employers here nervous (understandably so) as many backpackers often ditch their contracts early at the visa run point... leaving the employer up s*** creek without a paddle and explaining to angry parents and already overstressed chinese partners about why the guy didn't show up, and giving the rest of us who actually follow the rules a bad rep. The visa run guys are a disappearing breed, but still exist in the lower-rep schools I think. PRC, Cambodia, Thailand and Vietnam are currently better bets for people who want to teach English without BA's. (with the downside being less money and a somewhat worse quality of life than here in some ways- but better in other ways.) --But some positions may still be here in Taiwan for non BA people.. its just much more difficult than in the past. I highly suggest getting a BA before coming to Asia to work. Otherwise you may not have the ability to correct grammatical mistakes to the standard business people here (and in the rest of the world) NEED for clear communication and negotiation, and you will have no method to access many of the better jobs. At the very least you should take a 1 month 100 hour TESOL course and get a certificate and some teaching practice in. If you don't like drawing, reading or writing or dancing the funky chicken for little brown people's amusement - don't become an English teacher.

Why do you NEED to find work in Taiwan? Are you going to be one of those loser foreigners in Taiwan teaching English illegally and womanizing the country?

I am South African planning on marrying a Canadian in Taiwan where we are living. Anyone know the procedure?
We are currently living and working in Taiwan but want to return to Canada at the end of the year. I am concerned that it will be a difficult process for me to acquire a visa to return to Canada with my husband. Is anyone familiar with the process and legalities of bringing your foreign wife back to Canada?

Try this place. They are all GSM phones, I think, http://www.rangeroamer.com/countries/Taiwan.aspx?src=adw&gclid=CJCKpcPC_o8CFRpdagodkmFRuA
2 :
why not use Global7? Its a net-to-phone service. But its very cheap. It only charges USD0.0089 to call China. And It gives u a US phone number. What you need to do is to bring a laptop and use internet in some cybercafe. That's it. Feel free to contact me under yahoo answers email system.
3 :
If you already have a GSM phone, just get a SIMS card and you are in business...Otherwise, you can get a Mobal phone that will work almost anywhere in the world for $99, without having to replace the card. The catch: incoming and outgoing calls are on the expensive side. The pros: you keep your number forever so people can call you at the same number wherever you are in the world where the phone works. A good and cheap way is also to get the cheaper Mobal phone (you get a motorola for $50, not the sexiest and smartest model but it is functional and you can send sms as well), which comes with a SIMS card that works almost everywhere in the world. When you arrive in China, just buy a SIMS card for 100CNY (rechargeable) and put it in your phone...that's it...you got yourself a GSM phone for $50...

Is election violence common in the democracy of Taiwan? What about Friday's shooting at the KMT rally?
One man was killed and another injured at a KMT election rally. Is this how democracy works in Taiwan?

While incredibly unfortunate and sad, it does seem to be a rather isolated incident. I don't think this is indicative of Taiwan's political process.
2 :
No, election violence is not common in Taiwan. And no, this is not how democracy works in Taiwan, as the gunman was already a criminal for having a gun to begin with. Private gun ownership is illegal in Taiwan unless you are an aboriginal, and even in that case, gun ownership is strictly monitored.
3 :
i was surprised to see this news on CNN too, on the bottom strip of news around the world. i was surprised because this time is not the usual sissy fist fighting and spitting and hitting binders to each other's head... hope the shooting thing is not too comoon in taiwan or around the world.
4 :
Election violence is not that common in Taiwan, this is just something that is weird that has occured and it not common. I heard there was this country where their goverment used their tanks to simply roll over the people who are against them...hmmm...i wonder what country that is... 1) Sean Lien Was shot in the cheek and flew right out of the other side. 2) There was no blood markings on the ground during the whole incident 3) KMT wont release the tape they had at the incident, stating that the whole thing was "Too bloody". 4) The Doctor and nurses and the hospital states that Sean Lien is fine, and that he can eat now, and talk. Fishy? I think so, how can a person recover from a wound that fast, and be able to chew his food, when his mouth litterally has been shot? I feel that there is something that should be justified about this. Could KMT be putting up an act? Well there arnt enough facts to say so yet, so we will keep it at that. Also why would a man run on the stage to shoot? and not shoot at the bottom of the stage, where he could easily shoot and run away? Hmm...
5 :
No. You seem to have a grudge against democracy.
6 :
not common. perhaps a certain air polluting and noise polluting tradition of fireworks shooting might be a good idea for security to require the canidates to stop doing for their own protection. It is kind of like repeatedly crying wolf to the reflexes of security people... it makes them less responsive. Kudos to the guy who stopped the psycho from finishing his job... (if in fact there WAS a psycho... I would really prefer there was evidence that there is, actually.)

Do you find it strange that the Chinese leader announced his plan to work with Taiwan on a peace accord

Do you find it strange that the Chinese leader announced his plan to work with Taiwan on a peace accord ?
And, to end hostilities between the two countries. This announcement came just a week after Hillary returned from China on her "sit up and beg" trip from there. Do you wonder what she offered in return for whatever concessions she asked from the Chinese? Could it be Taiwan? Did she kick that ally under the bus like we did the Czech Republic and Poland over the defense missile system that Obama is willing to scuttle if the Russians will help the US over Iran. Did Hillary suggest to the Chinese they take the diplomatic approach over Taiwan and the US will re-think its defense pact with Taiwan? Will we have any allies left before it's all over?

How much will America tax me for working in Taiwan

How much will America tax me for working in Taiwan?
Let's say I'm making about 60,000 a month in Taiwan. For the first 183 days as a foreigner in Taiwan you are taxed by the ROC government 20%. Obviously, it's hard to withstand much more taxation, but as far as I know, I will also have to go out of my way to file my taxes with the USA and pay them too. What percent can I expect for taxation? And is that before or after Taiwan's taxes? I'm talking about working at a Taiwanese language school.
Taiwan - 4 Answers

It depends if your company equalizes its expatriate employees. If they do, then you won't pay more or less taxes than if you were working in the US. I have never had a client in Taiwan, so I cannot make a judgment on their tax structure or the impact on the US taxation. There are many ways for your company to structure your compensation, allowances, and benefits to minimize your tax liability. For your US tax return, you'll receive a foreign tax credit on taxes paid to ROC. Also, you'll file a 2555 as part of your income tax return to exclude some of your foreign income. You should see a tax professional who has experience dealing with expatriate employees.
2 :
Canadians working in Taiwan (that would be me) must pay Canadian income tax on foreign income as if it was earned in Canada, minus the Foreign Tax Credit of whatever income tax you paid in Taiwan. The lowest Canadian income tax rate is 22%. That means that you would only be paying 2% extra to Canada for the first six months. After that, your Canadian income tax bill will be 22%-6%, or 16%. I realize that many Canadians simply do not declare the money, and to be honest there is no way for Canada Revenue Agency to catch anyone. After spending a year in Taiwan, I went back to my job as a welfare caseworker. It used to annoy me when ex-teachers, having returned home, would come in and apply for welfare after evading their Canadian income tax. I understand US law to be that the first USD60K of overseas income is exempt, provided you were out of the USA for six months. In other words, Canadians have to pay Her Majesty, but Americans do no have to pay Uncle Sam.
3 :
If you are working for a Taiwanese company and paying tax in Taiwan. You have to make over 75.000 US dollars or so a year to have to pay tax in America. I think you need to work outside America for one year. Here's a link to the AIT tax page. http://www.ait.org.tw/en/uscitizens/irs.aspx I don't think you get paid enough in Taiwan to have to pay tax in America. But you will have to file last years return while you were in America. The AIT can give you a real answer. I hope this helps. Regards,
4 :
I don't have to pay taxes here, but I do have to send in a form saying how much I make. Not sure of the amount, but the other posters are right that it's a much larger amount than you'll be making for you to have to pay tax. You won't need to pay anything except the tax here in Taiwan then file a form saying what you made overseas.

Taiwan working visa question

To obtain and maintain a working visa in Taiwan, do you have to have a full time steady job, or can you just work part time somewhere? My uncle has a pizza restaurant in Gaoxiong, and is married to a native. If he were to open another location (he is planning on it) and hires me, would that be acceptable? Could I maintain my visa?

Foreign student situation, can I work in Taiwan

Foreign student situation, can I work in Taiwan?
I am a New Zealand citizen studying mandarin in Taiwan. I am still on my 60 day visitor visa (I will extend late September). I have been told that it is illegal for foreign students to work in Taiwan, however, I was approached by a cram school and they have told me they can train me to be an English teacher and apply for a work permit for me even though I am not university educated. Incoming funds to support my tuition would be great but I do not want to break any laws and get deported. Unlike some foreign students who do work any way, I can not afford to be deported from Taiwan as my girlfriend is Taiwanese, that's the whole reason I am here. Am I okay to work and study on a visitor visa if the place I am working for is going to apply for a work permit for me, its seems like a bit of a grey area to me and I do not want to discuss it with my language centre for fears that they may refuse me from enrolling next semester. Please shed some light on the issue for me! Thanks =)

An employment visa is required to work legally in Taiwan. No exceptions! If you are caught working in Taiwan without an employment visa, even if it is just part-time work, then you have violated the terms of of your tourism visa. That will result in your immediate deportation and you will be blacklisted from getting any future visas to Taiwan. Your "cram school" is fully aware of the law and is trying to lead you astray. If you start working for them without first obtaining an employment visa, then they can use that against you to control you. This is a common scheme, shady employers blackmail foreign workers over visa issues. Happens all the time, especially in Taiwan. Don't get yourself in trouble! If you want to work in Taiwan, then do it the legitimate way. Obtain an employment visa FIRST and then start work.
2 :
First off, your English appears to be better than most persons asking such questions. That's good. Furthermore, your interest in abiding by the laws here expresses an honorable trait. Since you are here on a visitor's visa, not a student visa, you should be able to upgrade your visa to a work visa if the employer wishes to process a work permit for you (6 months or one year in length). You should also acquire a National Health Insurance Card through this process. However, bear this in mind, you would have to maintain 14 hours of work per week (last time I checked) once you return to your schooling. Make sure you discuss your schedule of availability for work with the potential employer before asking them to process a work permit. It would be best if you could get something in writing that says they can't change your schedule without your approval. Be cooperative, honest about your situation, and patient while the paperwork is processed. Good luck to you. @Cooper - The "cram school" may be looking at a valuable teacher here; one who is superior to the "foreigner drifters" you alluded to in your posted question here in Taiwan Travel. I doubt they are trying to "lead him astray," since they have offered a work permit upfront. Let's not dissuade him with unnecessary fears. You needn't be such a disgruntled and cynical rabble-rouser all the time. Please, tone it down a bit. PEACE.
3 :
Well the only thing that A.Cooper has said that is correct is that it is illegal to work without a work visa in Taiwan the rest is barely worth reading. Its only good for comical relief, If you like dark comedy. Although it does happen with college students quite often, it is still illegal and since you don't want to do anything to jeopardize your relationship you'll want to do things legally. If you have been studying in Taiwan for more than 4 months you can apply for the Student ARC can be applied for after 4 months of study on a visitor visa. Most language schools in Taiwan (the ones that you study Chinese in) will permit you to study and work at the same time. You will have to make sure that everything you do is managed correctly because a lot of schools don't appreciate people who don't attend classes. I know this visa doesn't help your situation, just mentioning it to you. I don't know of your education back ground, but the bare minimal requirements for teaching in Taiwan as stated by the ROC government is that you have valid 2 year college degree along with an accredited TESOL/TEFL degree, however due to the job market becoming a little tighter in the last few years a lot of schools are pushing for the 4 year degree. However since the school as already approached you then you shouldn't have issue with that. I don't have direct knowledge of this, but I would assume that if your school is providing you with a work visa you they wont be asking for you college credits, but you should still find out what they will require. Get everything in writing, both Chinese and English, making sure they match with requirements and everything. Since you are from New Zealand you can apply for a working holiday visa which will allow you to both work and study at the same time. This visa is good for 180 days renewable for another 180 days giving you a 1 year visa in Taiwan. The problem with this is that you can't work for the same employer for more than 3 months. http://www.workingholidaytaiwan.org.tw/eligibility.htm This is really a tough subject because there are a lot of small loopholes that you can use to your advantage or get caught in and get in trouble so its best to talk to a representative the National Immigration Agency to see what is required to get your visa, you can have your girlfriend help you with this. You should do this quickly so that your perspective employer won't forget about you. Once you have a job, like WNL said, you will have to work a min. of 14 hours per week to keep your visa, this will allow for you to study at the same time.
4 :
Hi If you have to leave, see if you can get into this type of program if you are eligible as NZ Youth are being encouraged to come here. http://www.workingholidaytaiwan.org.tw/
5 :
To get a working visa as an English teacher in Taiwan you must have at least a 2 year degree and a teaching certificate for Toesl or TEFL ... You cannot just get a working visa without it. If the buxiban told you they can get it without these items they were either lying or their English sucks and they didnt understand you. (Can happen, my bosses english is pretty bad...) On a visitor Visa you cannot work, but a job can change it to a working visa easily if you have all the requirements.

I don't see why your family can't visit you. Your question isn't clear at all. If your family holds a US passport, they will not need a visa to visit Taiwan for up to 30 days. This link is assuming your wife and your daughter both holds a US passport: http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/cis/cis_1765.html For other passport, you will need to search for the country in which your family obtained the passport from and the website will give you a list similar to the one above.

Sure they will.... but only on local ATM that are Visa enabled which I believe they are lots of them in Taiwan Thanks
2 :
It could work if the store accepts Visa. BOA will charge a 3% foreign transaction fee if you swipe it in Taiwan (all major banks do this) and there might be some fees deducted from your rebate cards as well. The fee is in USD.
3 :
You even get a discount at the Taipei 101 observatory! :)
4 :
anywhere that accepts credit cards. department stores: yes malls: yes food courts in the malls: maybe. restaurants indoors with a/c and menus: yes night markets- stores with walls- maybe. night markets- street vendors- nope. restaurants indoors without a/c and no english or pictures on the menu: not likely.
5 :
If you've forgotten to bring any money at all, but have your credit or debit card handy, there's no need to fret. Taiwan's banking system is light-years ahead of most other countries, with the ability to use any of the abundant 24-hour ATMs to withdraw cash from anywhere in the world using the Plus or Cirrus systems. Certain banks' ATMs will even tell you your available balance in your own currency or in NT$. There is a per transaction limit of $20,000 for ATM cash withdrawals (HSBC Global Access customers may withdraw $30,000 from HSBC ATMs). Visa debit cards are not accepted in many places, but can be used at ATMs in Chinatrust banks (but not those in 7-11s).

should if you have internet there.

lol, only if you can type in Chinese.
3 :
get a converter for the different plugs/outlets there
4 :
Just buy a power adaptor for the chinese plugs!
5 :
yes but you need to get a converter for your charger
6 :
You need to have the proper voltage adapters.
7 :
if you gots connection yes it will ( it might run slower though...)
8 :
yes
9 :
no in taiwan they have these special advanced devices that can tell that its american and it causes the laptop to just instantly die within the vacinity of taiwan..what the fuck do u think?
10 :
Just get a Power Converter. Sorted.
11 :
Your Laptop will work on the moon if you managed to go there, and as long as you have power.
12 :
It should work if it has a battery just charge at night and when not using and it should be fine.
13 :
You need an AC adapter that will work with Chinese voltage.
14 :
it will basically be the same. computers are international. but you will have to work on the internet part, depending where you go, the connection may be better or worse good luck
15 :
Possibly.
16 :
yes
17 :
this happens because there's difference between the power of the electricity in the USA and China, if your laptop needs a high power to be on in China it might be low power and then your laptop wouldn't be able to stay on because of the low electricity.
18 :
im pretty sure because tobisha is a japanese company if im not correct and thats pretty close to china so my guess is that it will work there but i dont know about how the power outlets r there so it might only run on one battery. so u might want to get one of those outlet converters
19 :
It should work....the power outlets are the same as America
20 :
in CHINA, the plugs are incompatible and need an adapter. however, in Taiwan, the plugs are the same as America. I know cuz we moved from Taiwan to America and all our stuff still works.
21 :
yes
22 :
First, Taiwan's AC power supply is the same as U.S. 110V 60Hz. However, in China, the AC power supply is 240V 50Hz, not the same as U.S.Your title said Taiwan, but text said China. Second, check the power supply(converter) specification for the Toshiba laptop, if the specification indicated for "Input" of 100-240V 50/60Hz, then most likely you will just need a proper socket adaptor, so the plug can be properly inserted into the outlet. If the specification indicated the "Input" is 100-110V 60Hz, then you will need to purchase a power supply(converter) from Toshiba that can handle input of 100-240V 50/60Hz. ALL laptop power supplies are power converter which convert the AC power into DC power, unfortunately some brand only supply their U.S. laptop with power supply(converter) that can only handle 100-110V 60Hz AC power supply.
