Yes, you can apply for the Canadian visa from the United States, but you need to meet certain requirements dependent upon your visa type as listed on the attached website. http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/buffalo/imm/visa_temp.aspx?lang=eng#REQUIREMENTSUS .. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/apply-where.asp#u ..

I don't see why your family can't visit you. Your question isn't clear at all. If your family holds a US passport, they will not need a visa to visit Taiwan for up to 30 days. This link is assuming your wife and your daughter both holds a US passport: http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/cis/cis_1765.html For other passport, you will need to search for the country in which your family obtained the passport from and the website will give you a list similar to the one above.

WIll Visa Debit cards work in Taiwan? (from US

WIll Visa Debit cards work in Taiwan? (from US)?
Hi, I'm from the US and I have a few prepaid visa debit rebate cards as well as a BOA visa debit card. Will I be able to use them in Taiwan? Thanks.

Sure they will.... but only on local ATM that are Visa enabled which I believe they are lots of them in Taiwan Thanks
2 :
It could work if the store accepts Visa. BOA will charge a 3% foreign transaction fee if you swipe it in Taiwan (all major banks do this) and there might be some fees deducted from your rebate cards as well. The fee is in USD.
3 :
You even get a discount at the Taipei 101 observatory! :)
4 :
anywhere that accepts credit cards. department stores: yes malls: yes food courts in the malls: maybe. restaurants indoors with a/c and menus: yes night markets- stores with walls- maybe. night markets- street vendors- nope. restaurants indoors without a/c and no english or pictures on the menu: not likely.

If you've forgotten to bring any money at all, but have your credit or debit card handy, there's no need to fret. Taiwan's banking system is light-years ahead of most other countries, with the ability to use any of the abundant 24-hour ATMs to withdraw cash from anywhere in the world using the Plus or Cirrus systems. Certain banks' ATMs will even tell you your available balance in your own currency or in NT$. There is a per transaction limit of $20,000 for ATM cash withdrawals (HSBC Global Access customers may withdraw $30,000 from HSBC ATMs). Visa debit cards are not accepted in many places, but can be used at ATMs in Chinatrust banks (but not those in 7-11s).

Will my American laptop work in Taiwan

Will my American laptop work in Taiwan? ?
I was wondering if a American Toshiba laptop would work in China? My boss is from China and sent the laptop to a family member in China. They said in China the laptop would work with a battery but not with the power cord. It would turn on but the screen would be fuzzy. Anybody got any idea? Thanks!

should if you have internet there.
2 :
lol, only if you can type in Chinese.
3 :
get a converter for the different plugs/outlets there
4 :
Just buy a power adaptor for the chinese plugs!
5 :
yes but you need to get a converter for your charger
6 :
You need to have the proper voltage adapters.
7 :
if you gots connection yes it will ( it might run slower though...)
8 :
yes
9 :
no in taiwan they have these special advanced devices that can tell that its american and it causes the laptop to just instantly die within the vacinity of taiwan..what the fuck do u think?
10 :
Just get a Power Converter. Sorted.
11 :
Your Laptop will work on the moon if you managed to go there, and as long as you have power.
12 :
It should work if it has a battery just charge at night and when not using and it should be fine.
13 :
You need an AC adapter that will work with Chinese voltage.
14 :
it will basically be the same. computers are international. but you will have to work on the internet part, depending where you go, the connection may be better or worse good luck
15 :
Possibly.
16 :
yes
17 :
this happens because there's difference between the power of the electricity in the USA and China, if your laptop needs a high power to be on in China it might be low power and then your laptop wouldn't be able to stay on because of the low electricity.
18 :
im pretty sure because tobisha is a japanese company if im not correct and thats pretty close to china so my guess is that it will work there but i dont know about how the power outlets r there so it might only run on one battery. so u might want to get one of those outlet converters
19 :
It should work....the power outlets are the same as America
20 :
in CHINA, the plugs are incompatible and need an adapter. however, in Taiwan, the plugs are the same as America. I know cuz we moved from Taiwan to America and all our stuff still works.
21 :
yes

First, Taiwan's AC power supply is the same as U.S. 110V 60Hz. However, in China, the AC power supply is 240V 50Hz, not the same as U.S.Your title said Taiwan, but text said China. Second, check the power supply(converter) specification for the Toshiba laptop, if the specification indicated for "Input" of 100-240V 50/60Hz, then most likely you will just need a proper socket adaptor, so the plug can be properly inserted into the outlet. If the specification indicated the "Input" is 100-110V 60Hz, then you will need to purchase a power supply(converter) from Toshiba that can handle input of 100-240V 50/60Hz. ALL laptop power supplies are power converter which convert the AC power into DC power, unfortunately some brand only supply their U.S. laptop with power supply(converter) that can only handle 100-110V 60Hz AC power supply.
